 Abstract 

The protection of children is the most important task of the state, society and even the individual. At the same time, despite the importance of this task, the legal regulation of child protection in modern Russia is far from perfect. One of the most important categories of child protection law is the category of children's interests. The interests of the child are the most important issue at the stage of preparation and in the process of considering civil cases related to raising a child. The author of the article conducts a survey analysis of the legal category "interests of the child" in order to identify conflicts and gaps in the legislation of the Russian Federation in this area. Currently, there is a need to revise the legal regulation in this area in connection with the constantly evolving public relations and the importance of timely updating of legislation. The author assesses the social conditionality of ensuring the interests of the child in the preparation and consideration of civil cases related to the upbringing of a child.
